Welcome STP Walkers League to the Walk Across Texas! Adult – Diabetes Edition!

We are excited that you are joining us in this physical activity program designed to establish a habit of regular physical activity.

Remember, you are not in this alone; each adult team may include up to 8 team members, all working together to reach the 832-mile goal. 

Over the next eight-weeks, you will receive weekly newsletters with tips for a successful virtual journey across Texas and resources tailored for individuals who would like to learn more about diabetes self-care and management.

The weekly newsletter topics include:

  • Get Active, Living with Diabetes 
  • Safety First
  • Balance and Fall Prevention 
  • Staying Motivated 
  • Mindful Living
  • Turn Excuses into Solutions 
  • Family Fun
  • Be Your True (Best) Self

Don't forget to recruit your team members! Also, please help us spread the word and recruit your fellow colleagues as team captains. Here are the steps they can follow to join:

  1. Create or log into your Howdy Health account
  2. Click the WAT! Dashboard button under the WAT! Adult section
  3. Click the 'Create a Team' button
  4. Complete the Create a Team form and use this League Code: watL-220322-13867
  5. Once created, you can start logging miles on 05/16/2022
  6. Invite your fellow coworkers to join as a team of up to 8 team members

For those who have joined, you'll receive an invitation to participate in remote data collection to help us improve the program. The first 40 people who complete a survey will receive an accelerometer, scale, and blood pressure cuff. Should you fully complete all requested activities, you will be eligible to receive a $50 e-gift card.
